Since these are long term holdings, especially for younger physicians, focus on Index funds and those with fees of less than 1%. As mentioned, there are often high cost, higher risk funds which do not align with long term holdings.

Absolutely. A lot of retirement plans are saddled with terrible choices. They can change real quick if you kick up a fuss.
