Cost of living data
Joseph Saveika
Integrate cost of living/salary data by geography to give people an idea of what they're getting into. A median doctor has a median fair market value (FMV) that employers have to watch to keep themselves from getting into legal trouble. As you move to Low cost of living areas (yes, typically places people don't necessarily want to live) FMV rises. The employer is forced to pay more for the service. Totally personal choice, but I'd rather work less time then move to somewhere I would choose to be.

That data is easily accessible (the government calculates it) and hopefully could be added as a feature.

What would be interesting is to have a tool where you can determine what the effective income would be given a particular geographical region versus another. I.e.: if I earned X, what could I expect to take home on average given the geographical region’s average cost of living

Dr. Daniel Kwan MD: Exactly. You often hear it referred to as geographic arbitrage.
